Rehabilitation with laminate veneers from A to Z — International Edition (English) with DMD PhD Marco Gresnigt 17 & 18 December 2027
Content
The non-profit organization ‘Restorative Dentistry and Implantology’ is organizing this two-day course with live patient treatments at the Icarus Academy: Rehabilitation with Laminate Veneers: From A to Z. Due to high demand, an international edition of our annual veneer course is finally being organised. The course will be conducted in English.
Participants from abroad often find it difficult to travel twice so this international edition of the course will take place over two consecutive days. Consequently, the live demo on day 1 and day 2, covering the preparation and placement respectively, will be performed with two different patients.

Part 1: Friday 17 December 2027
Nowadays clinicians are more and more focused on treating patients with minimally invasive dentistry. Thanks to developments in materials and adhesive techniques, we can create durable and aesthetic restorations with minimal tissue removal. We start by planning the restorations. This involves an extensive discussion of Digital Smile Design (DSD) in combination with a mock-up, which allows us to discuss the expected end result with the patient prior to preparation, ensuring we meet the patient’s expectations. During the course, we cover the correct indications, preparation and the use of immediate dentin sealing (IDS) for veneers in detail. How do we take impressions of these facings after preparation and what information must we pass on to our dental technician for fabricating the veneers? Temporary restorations are fabricated and finished while awaiting the final veneers. Each step is explained theoretically, followed by a live patient treatment in which an extensive veneer case is treated under a microscope.

Part 2: Saturday 18 December 2027
Removing the temporary restoration is not always easy. How do we proceed? After removal it’s essential that the preparations in the mouth are cleaned correctly so that we can perform a try in of the veneers. Which type of ‘cement’ do we prefer for the luting procedure and why? After the fitting, the facings must be finally prepared. The preparations in the mouth must also be correctly isolated and prepared for the adhesive bonding. Adhesive bonding requires a great deal of discipline that must be strictly followed to achieve a durable and predictable result. These procedures are then showed clinically during a live patient treatment in which an extensive veneer cementation case is treated under a microscope. This 2 day course goes into detail on every aspect of veneer treatment from start to finish, both theoretically and clinically.
