VZW Rest. THK & Imp. is orga­niz­ing this new two-day course with Pro­fes­sor Mar­co Gres­nigt and Eric Meis­berg­er on May 13th & 14th, 2027. This course will take place at the Roy­al Yacht Club Antwerp. 

Hands-on train­ing in the treat­ment and restora­tion of pulp expo­sures in molars 

Treat­ing deep car­i­ous lesions where pulp expo­sure is a pos­si­bil­i­ty is one of the great­est chal­lenges in restora­tive den­tistry. Mod­ern insights and bio­com­pat­i­ble mate­ri­als make it pos­si­ble to main­tain pulp vital­i­ty, pro­vid­ed the cor­rect steps are care­ful­ly fol­lowed. Dur­ing this inten­sive hands-on course, you will learn — step by step — how to per­form vital pulp ther­a­py (VPT) on a molar, includ­ing the con­struc­tion of a durable and func­tion­al restora­tion. You will gain both in-depth the­o­ret­i­cal knowl­edge and direct prac­ti­cal expe­ri­ence using clin­i­cal­ly real­is­tic models.

LEARN­ING OBJECTIVES 

▪️ To cor­rect­ly deter­mine the indi­ca­tions for vital pulp ther­a­py (direct and indi­rect pulp cap­ping, pulpotomy) 

▪️ To cor­rect­ly iden­ti­fy and pre­pare the anato­my of the pulp roof and pulp chamber 

▪️ To select the appro­pri­ate mate­r­i­al for pulp cap­ping (such as MTA and Biodentine) 

▪️ To work with a rub­ber­dam under chal­leng­ing conditions 

▪️ To make a clin­i­cal deci­sion between endodon­tic treat­ment and pre­serv­ing vitality 

▪️ To build up a deep restora­tion in a man­ner that is both bio­log­i­cal­ly and aes­thet­i­cal­ly sound fol­low­ing VPT

Marco Gresnigt

Mar­co Gres­nigt grad­u­at­ed in 2005 cum laude from the Uni­ver­si­ty of Gronin­gen. In Jan­u­ary 2012, he was pro­mot­ed (Phd) on the clin­i­cal and lab­o­ra­to­ry eval­u­a­tion of adhe­sive cemen­ta­tion of veneers. He’s cur­rent­ly active in the cen­ter for spe­cial den­tal care at the Mar­ti­ni Hos­pi­tal Gronin­gen where he per­forms aes­thet­ic treat­ment under micro­scope. At the Uni­ver­si­ty of Gronin­gen he’s the head of the depart­ment of restora­tive den­tistry and bio­ma­te­ri­als, con­duct­ing research about restora­tive and adhe­sive den­tistry and teach­ing about esthet­ic and recon­struc­tive den­tistry in the clin­ic. He has mul­ti­ple Phd stu­dents and pub­lish­es in inter­na­tion­al mag­a­zines, (>40 peer reviewed arti­cles) main­ly about adhe­sive restora­tive den­tistry. He’s a nation­al and inter­na­tion­al speak­er who gives cours­es in the field of aes­thet­ic and recon­struc­tive adhe­sive den­tistry. He won mul­ti­ple awards such as the GC world clin­i­cal case award, Smile award, EAED inno­va­tion award and dif­fer­ent sci­en­tif­ic awards. He’s the for­mer pres­i­dent of the inter­na­tion­al Bio-Emu­la­tion group and is a cur­rent glob­al ambas­sador for SlowDentistry.

Eric Meisberger

Eric Meis­berg­er is a den­tist and clin­i­cal lec­tur­er in the Restora­tive Den­tistry and Bio­ma­te­ri­als sec­tion at the Cen­ter for Den­tistry and Oral Hygiene at UMC Gronin­gen. At the Cen­ter for Spe­cial Den­tal Care at the Mar­ti­ni Hos­pi­tal in Gronin­gen, he focus­es pri­mar­i­ly on endodon­tic treat­ments per­formed on a refer­ral basis. He has a par­tic­u­lar inter­est in mag­ni­fi­ca­tion in den­tistry and vital pulp therapy.
