Mercado – foodtruck market

In the heart of Antwerp, at the crossroads of the historic city center, the fashion district and the shopping streets, you will find (Super-) Mercado. The first real food market in Belgium with space for events and culture.Following the example of the Torvehallerne in Copenhagen, the London Food Hall and Mercado de San Miguel in Madrid, we are bringing the concept of covered food markets and their festive, southern market atmosphere to Antwerp. A mecca of food culture is being created in the former post office on the Groenplaats, a unique place, rich in history, to which we are happy to contribute.

Vogeltjesmarkt

Every Sunday from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm, the famous bird market takes place in Antwerp. This originally owes its name to the poultry that you can buy there. But in addition to the poultry, you will find stalls with clothing, household items and, above all, lots of goodies. From 283 to 3110 you can come here from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. In the winter months, the market vendors open an hour earlier. The Theaterplein, the Graanmarkt and the Oudevaartplaats offer space for 730 stands. The cozy atmosphere of the market continues on the surrounding terraces.

The foreigners’ market

Every Saturday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm there is a market at the Oudevaartplaats, at the Stadsschouwburg in Antwerp. This Saturday market is also known as the foreigners market. The foreigners’ market owes its name to the many exotic fruits and vegetables that you can buy here. In addition to Turkish, Moroccan and southern specialties, you will also find local products here.
